Community Service Bonspiel benefits worthy groups

Tillsonburg Curling Club hosted its 66th Community Service Bonspiel at the end of November.

Fourteen teams curled, playing for prize money of $3,000, which was shared by all teams (names drawn from a hat) to be awarded to a worthy group, charity or organization of their choice.

Tillsonburg Curling Club’s entry won the coveted Community Service Trophy for most overall points at the Nov. 29 bonspiel.

Good Redden Klosler sponsored the event, providing $2,000 of the prize money, and the Tillsonburg Curling Club donated another $1,000 to the prize pool.

“Special thanks to major sponsor Good Redden Klosler and Tillsonburg Curling Club,” said convener Les Peter. “We had a lot of people there that only curl once a year and a few that have never curled before. Thank you all for participating and availing many worthy groups of money to help with their programs.”
