Brantford to play Ottawa in opening round

The Brantford Bulldogs will face the Ottawa 67’s in the opening round of the OHL’s playoffs.
Brantford and Ottawa will begin its best-of-seven, Eastern Conference quarter-final series on Friday at the civic centre at 7 p.m. Game 2 will also be at the civic centre on Sunday at 7 p.m.
The series then shifts to Ottawa for Game 3 on April 2 at 7 p.m. and Game 4 on April 4 at 7 p.m.
If necessary, Game 5 is in Brantford on April 6 at 4 p.m., Game 6 is April 7 in Ottawa at 7 p.m. and Game 7 is in Brantford on April 9 at 7 p.m.
Brantford wrapped up its regular season on Sunday afternoon in Ottawa scoring a 5-1 victory versus the 67’s.
The win left Brantford with a record of 37-20-9-2 record, good enough for third in the Eastern Conference. Ottawa wound up sixth with a record of 36-24-6-2.
The Bulldogs won the season series with the 67’s 3-1.
Florian Xhekaj had a massive game against the 67’s on Sunday as he was involved in all five goals with two goals and three assists.
Lucas Moore, Jake O’Brien and Patrick Thomas got a goal and an assist each while Marek Vanacker picked up a pair of assists. Adrian Rebelo also got an assist.
Matteo Drobac stopped 25 shots to earn the win in goal.
Cooper Foster scored for Ottawa. Goalie Ian Michelone made 31 saves.
