Bulldogs eliminated by 67's

The Brantford Bulldogs’ season came to an end on Sunday night in Ottawa.

Facing the 67’s in Game 6 of an OHL Eastern Conference best-of-seven quarter-final playoff series, the Bulldogs were beaten 6-1. Ottawa won the series 4-2 and now advance to the semifinals where they will take on the Oshawa Generals.

Brantford fell behind 2-0 in the first period and couldn’t come back.

Zac Lavoie, on the power play, scored the only goal for Bulldogs. Owen Protz and Marek Vanacker got assists.

Bradley Horner and Will Gerrior got two goals apiece for the 67’s with one each to Jack Dever and Chris Barlas.

Matteo Drobac made 32 saves for the Bulldogs and at the other end of the ice, Collin MacKenzie stopped 31 shots for Ottawa.

Brantford’s focus now shifts to the OHL Priority Selection this weekend. The first three rounds of the draft take place on Friday with rounds four to 15 taking place on Saturday.

The Bulldogs pick 14th in the first round. They also own picks in the second round (35th overall) and third round (56th overall).
