Ron MacLean said to the nation… ‘Mudmen we love ‘em.’  They have shaken the hand of our late, beloved, Queen Elizabeth II and more importantly they’ve played Tillsonburg!

Ach, did ye catch the fine Scottish name, Campbell? Well, Robbie, sent me the following: “The Mudmen return to the Tillsonburg Legion in concert is part of their Farmer’s Tan Tour/CD release party Friday, Nov. 4.

This will be the band’s second Legion fundraiser with proceeds going to help maintain the historic Legion.  Tillsonburg has been very good to us, we have sold out the Legion before we have played the at the Fair, pro wrestling events, the Royal; there are too many too mention. With the release of Mudmen’s 11th studio CD, ‘Farmer’s Tan’, the Mudmen are showing no signs of slowing down with 2023 being the band’s 25th Anniversary. Crowds in Canada and America have raved about the new CD and the new band lineup.

“Enjoy an evening of Celtic stories and music from Canada’s Celtic Rock Warriors – the Mudmen – and expect the usual upbeat night of fun,” Campbell says, “with a couple of cold ones.”

The Campbell Brothers are currently working on a memoir book/DVD (20 Plus Years in The Mud) which has been forwarded by Ron MacLean with numerous celebrity content stories, quotes and videos. When will that be released? Robbie says, “when it is done.” Check out more about the group, where they have toured and will be going next at www.mudmen.ca .

These Celtic Rock Warriors have built a legion of fans and fittingly, perform in local Legions, helping Legions help others.

Laura, the nice lass at Varnavair, noted “They are an awesome group and usually bring out a lot of people. They give the Legion a donation from the sale of their tickets. The more people we have come, the larger the donation to the Legion!”

AIR CADETS

Did you know that Tillsonburg’s Legion is home to the 153 Varnavair Squadron? The Air Cadet program is run jointly by the Department of National Defence and the Air Cadet League of Canada. If are between 12-18, and you have what it takes, you can train to be a glider or a power pilot and earn your wings at no cost for uniforms and training. The aims of the program are leadership, citizenship, fitness, and an interest in Canada’s aviation heritage and industry. Activities include gliding, summer training, camping weekends, and more. These are usually provided at no cost. Do you know any youth who want to do something different?

The Legion is so much more than what the public presumes. Their mission is to serve active and retired military; RCMP, police, Coast Guard members, etc. and their families; to remember all who died for our country, and to serve our communities and our country. They change the lives of Veterans, their families, seniors, youth and those in need, within our communities.

By enjoying the Mudmen concert, you help Tillsonburg.
