A 39-year-old was allegedly caught behind the wheel of a Tesla in Caledon with more than four times the legal limit of alcohol in their system.
Ontario Provincial Police say officers were patrolling the area of Mayfield Rd. and Coleraine Dr. when they conducted a traffic stop around 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
“Officers formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and (the motorist) was subsequently arrested,” the OPP said in a statement released Wednesday.
Angad Singh, of Brampton, is charged with operation while impaired – alcohol; operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus); and driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor.
“Additionally, the driver’s vehicle was impounded for a period of seven days, and their driver’s licence suspended for a period of 90 days,” the OPP said.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on April 11 to answer to the charges.
