The Norfolk County Sports Hall of Recognition is hosting a celebration 25 years in the making.
The sports hall will welcome members of the public to a 25th anniversary open house at the Simcoe Recreation Centre on Sunday, Nov. 24 from 1 – 4 p.m.
The hall will host a free swim at the Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. before attendees will be welcomed by sports hall committee members.
Longtime board member and community supporter George Pond will be on-site selling and signing his book entitled “Norfolk County Sports Hall of Recognition: The First 25 Years”. Anyone in attendance can then enjoy a free skate from 3 – 4 p.m.
“This is going to be a very special event,” said Sports Hall Chair Heather King in a media release. “To think our group has been around for a quarter-century is amazing. We’re both excited and proud to showcase the talent and hard work displayed by players, coaches, and builders from Norfolk County.”
In addition to cake, refreshments, snacks, games, and activities for the whole family, nomination forms will be on hand, as will committee members who can answer questions about the hall. Both nominations and new committee members are always welcome.
