Run For Light marks 32nd year

The 32nd annual Run For Light fundraiser takes place on Thursday at the W. Ross Macdonald School on Paris Road in Brantford.
Organizers say the event usually attracts 500 to 700 participants to the five-kilometre run/walk, held on the grounds of the provincial school for the blind.
The event gets underway at 7 p.m. with food, music and face painting. Draw prize tickets will be available for one dollar each, for a chance to win one of a number of pro sports jerseys.
Registration can be done at the school’s front administration desk, or on the night of the run.
Tickets are $10 each, which includes a T-shirt and glow stick, the latter a tradition because the actual run/walk begins at 9 p.m., when it is dark.
All proceeds from Run For Light go toward purchasing physical education training equipment for students at the school.
