Provincial police in Perth and Huron counties are looking for witnesses who saw a two-car crash in West Perth that sent five people to hospital last weekend.
The collision took place around 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Perth Road 180/Hern Line and Line 17 near Staffa. A sedan heading east on Line 17 collided with a sedan going north on Road 180. Four people in the sedan going east were taken to local hospital with minor injuries while one person in the other vehicle was initially taken to local hospital with serious injuries and later transported by air ambulance to London.
The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or hc-cs.ca for a potential cash reward.
DISTRACTED DRIVING CHARGE IN MITCHELL
A 64-year-old West Perth man was handed a distracted driving ticket after police said a motorist was seen talking on a cellphone while driving in Mitchell.
The driver was caught around 4 p.m. Monday, police said Thursday.
