Eggs thrown at Tillsonburg house

Oxford OPP is investigating an incident in which eggs were thrown at a Owl Drive home in Tillsonburg early Aug. 23.

Police say the homeowner was awakened by the noise and contacted police at roughly 2:30 a.m.

“Although this may seem to be minor in nature, the deliberate act can cause significant damage to surfaces, especially if it is not removed quickly,” OPP said in a media release.

Drunk driver arrested

A 69-year-old Tillsonburg man was arrested Aug. 21 and charged with impaired driving.

Oxford OPP received a call about an impaired driver on Quarter Town Line at roughly 8:45 p.m.

The vehicle was located, the driver arrested and sobriety tests were conducted.

As a result, the accused was arrested and charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

He is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock at a later date.

Target practice goes off property

Norfolk OPP were called to a weapons-related incident at a Goshen Road home in Norfolk County on Aug. 20 at 11:10 a.m.

Someone had been shooting a firearm for target practice but in an unsafe manner and possibly hit an adjacent neighbouring home, OPP say.

A 20-year-old man was charged with careless use of a firearm. He is to appear in Simcoe court later this month to answer to the charges.
