OPP investigate fatal collision in Houghton

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a single vehicle fatal collision that occurred on Beach Lane in Houghton Township.
On Wednesday July 10, at 2:57 p.m., OPP, Norfolk County Fire Services and Norfolk County paramedics responded to Beach Lane after a passer-by noticed a vehicle off the roadway and down a ravine that appeared to have been involved in a collision.
Emergency crews located a male inside the vehicle with life threatening injuries. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
OPP investigation, thus far, determined a black Chevrolet pickup truck was travelling westbound on Beach Lane when the vehicle left the roadway, collided into some trees and travelled down a ravine.
OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) are attending the scene to assist with the investigation.
Beach Lane was closed Wednesday at First Concession Road ENR.
The identity of the deceased was not released pending next of kin notification.
