The Norfolk County OPP are reminding the public to use caution online after a resident reported an extortion on Nov. 24.
Police say the resident met a woman online and began talking on video chat.
After the video ended, the victim began receiving several messages from the same person claiming to be in possession of an explicit video of them that would be shared with family and friends if they didn’t pay $300.
No funds were sent and the police were contacted immediately.
