To brie or not to brie? If that’s the question, then Food Network makes the answer easy with its new docuseries Cheese: A Love Story. The six-part program follows Afrim Pristine, the world’s youngest Maître Fromager (Cheese Master), to notable cheese-related locations around the world.
Pristine travels to Switzerland, France and Greece, as well as Canadian destinations in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia. He meets with farmers, cheesemakers, shop owners, affineurs (those who age cheese) and chefs, including special guests Chuck Hughes and Rob Feenie.
In the June 9 premiere, Pristine lands in Switzerland. “In the home known for Gruyère, raclette, fondue and the famous holey Swiss Emmental, Afrim learns firsthand how these classic cheeses stand the test of time and discovers the modern approaches the Swiss have innovated in the world of cheesemaking,” reads the announcement.
