The Road to Rock the Park Patio Series featuring Canadian music stars begins this weekend but at a different venue than planned.

Country music star Tim Hicks will perform one show Friday and two on Saturday at the more spacious Bellamere Winery and Event Centre at 1260 Gainsborough Rd., instead of Crossings Pub and Eatery on Hyde Park Road.

“It was a liquor licence, patio-extension issue that’s held it up,” said Brad Jones, president of Jones Entertainment Group that is organizing the series. “But all the government agencies, the city and the province, were just amazing and we got it done.”

Crossings will still provide the pre-ordered food that will be delivered at 7 p.m. to the fans, who can sit in groups of six at 16 tables.

A few tickets are still available for the Hicks show at 10:15 p.m. Saturday.

Meanwhile, Jones continues to add more shows, including a fourth Trews show ($125 per person) July 21-24 and two more Dueling Pianos ($90 per ticket), July 8-10 and Aug. 19- 21. Country music duo The Reklaws ($125 per ticket) perform July 16 and 17, followed by Classic Albums Live: Led Zeppelin II ($125) Aug. 6-7 and Classic Albums Live: CCR Chronicles ($125) Aug. 27-28.

It’s not yet known whether there will be a show Aug. 13-14, although Jones indicated efforts are ongoing to book an act for those dates.

Single tickets are not being sold. Ticket buyers must buy a table for six. Visit the website rockthepark.ca for tickets or more information.

Jones said shifting the patio series to Bellamere Winery means another London business that’s been closed since the pandemic hit in March 2020 will get much-needed revenue from a rental.

“Safety is at the forefront of all this, be assured,” said Jones, adding 16 of the 20 shows are sold out.

“It’s just going to be nice to hear live music again in this city after 17 months,” he said.
