The biggest fundraiser for the Tillsonburg Horticultural Society will be happening on Tuesday, May 15, 5:30 p.m.

The Lions Auditorium at the Tillsonburg Community Centre will be a very busy spot all day, filling up with many donated items from over 90 local businesses and society members, all being displayed for the evening fundraiser. A variety of items will interest almost everyone.

There will be all types of plants - many perennials for $2 and $5 each and herbs and vegetables (tomatoes and peppers) at very reasonable prices. All healthy plants from local nurseries ready to find a new home.

There will be a raffle for a bistro set donated by Merle Norman and a large draw table with tickets for sale that will be drawn on the night. As in the past years there will be the ever popular bake table with lots of ‘goodies’ baked by members. Tim Hortons has given the Society coffee and tea to offer for free.

The auction starts at 6:30 p.m. with many trees, shrubs and plants on offer. Also urns, planters and baskets filled with annuals and perennials. There will be many garden décor pieces made by Society members both wood and metal and other media. This event is on a cash or cheque basis only. Draw results will be available on the night.

The Society hopes the community will support this event which in turn will allow the Horticultural Society to provide programs like the Junior Gardeners, and to maintain and care for our town and the beautification of local public places, including some of the gardens, and the planters on Broadway. Many members volunteer their time to do this but it takes an enormous amount of money for the supplies (shrubs, plants, fertilizer and much more).

See you there and please buy!
