Driving while suspended

On Wednesday, November 1, at approximately 11 p.m., Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police stopped a 1991 Jeep in Tillsonburg on Broadway.

The female driver, 42-year-old Carrie McKieran of Zorra Township, was arrested for Driving while Suspended.

During the investigation OPP located a quantity of suspected opioids and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

McKieran has been charged with the following offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and The Highway Traffic Act (HTA): Possession of Schedule I Substance - Opioids, CDSA; Drive While Under Suspension, HTA; Fail To Use Lower Beam - Oncoming Traffic, HTA.

She was released on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking before an Officer in Charge to attend Woodstock Court at a future date.

 

Dodge Charger snaps hydro pole

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Oxford County Detachment is investigating a fail to remain collision on Otterville Road just west of Springford.

OPP were called to a collision which occurred Thursday, November 2, at approximately 8:05 a.m.

Through the course of investigation, it was determined that a vehicle was travelling eastbound on Otterville Road, when the driver left the roadway and struck a hydro guide wire which caused the hydro pole to break. The vehicle then reversed back onto the roadway and fled the scene at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was last observed eastbound on Otterville Road.

The vehicle is described as a newer model, black in colour, four-door Dodge Charger, with tinted windows, and will have front end damage.
