TDMH, AHI announce new president, CEO

Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital and Alexandra Hospital Ingersoll Joint Board of Directors announced on Thursday afternoon that Sandy Jansen has been named as the two hospitals' new President and CEO, effective Sept. 25, 2017.

Following an extensive search and recruitment process, the Selection Committee made the unanimous recommendation to the Board of Directors to appoint Jansen to the role.

According to the TDMH/Alexandra media release, Jansen is a very experienced and skilled hospital leader with a strong record of success and commitment to quality healthcare and patient safety. She has worked in healthcare for over 25 years and held several progressive leadership roles. Jansen has been instrumental in the success of a number of health initiatives system-wide, including the implementation of the regional electronic health record. An advisor to committees at the provincial and national level, Jansen also believes in community service and is a volunteer advocate against domestic violence and a champion for primary health care.

Jansen is a Registered Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, and a member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders. She holds an Advanced Leadership Certificate from the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management and a Masters Degree in Health Leadership.

"I am honoured that the Board of Directors has presented me with the opportunity to lead these two incredible organizations into the future," said Jansen in the media release. "It is clear to me that the strength of these hospitals is attributed to the caring, compassionate and dedicated staff, physicians, leaders and Board members who work here. I look forward to moving forward with you to ensure we bring the safest and highest quality healthcare to our communities."
