Downtown Sidewalk Days in town this week

Downtown Sidewalk Sale Days, on this week in Tillsonburg, are a win-win for both retailers and customers, said event coordinator Carrianne Hall.

Businesses benefit and so do shoppers.

"It helps bring the community together," said Hall, noting Tillsonburg's Wednesday-to-Saturday Sidewalk Days is now in its fourth year back. "We've had a great response, everyone seems to be loving it. A great response from some of the downtown retailers and the restaurants and cafes.

"Lots of product out for sale, lots of bargains to be had from $5 tables, great discounts, 60 per cent off, 50 per cent off, buy one get one free... all throughout the downtown. Many participating stores on Broadway and some that are just off Broadway on the neighbouring streets as well.

"And even if you don't see something outside on the street, definitely go in and visit them because a lot of the stores have in-store draws - it's a real win-win situation. So definitely check them out, it's definitely the place to be this weekend."

It was a push to bring retailers back to Sidewalk Sale Days, said Hall, owner of Trinkets Gift Shoppe, but worth it.

"Some of the restaurants have jumped onboard - they're offering specials for the week."

Hours vary, said Hall, depending on each store's individual hours.

"Each store has its own hours. Some retailers stay open later Friday night, some don't. It's best to check their Facebook page or website to get that information."

Hall encourages anyone in the Tillsonburg area to head downtown to find some bargains.

"Definitely stop in. Stock is dwindling fast at these prices, but we're happy to see you whatever day you come."
