We are at the halfway point in the Ladies and Mens regular season for most teams already as we passed the mid way point of the month of June.

There will be lots of activities in July and August as there will be an SPN qualifier on July 8 and the Ladies League will be running the same July 29 weekend. It will be a good chance for teams looking to qualify to get their two tournaments in by playing locally!

The Men's League is running a four person golf scramble tournament at The Bridges at Tillsonburg on Saturday, August 12.

Men's A

The division is tightening up after Haines Roofing and G.C. Lounsbury won a pair of games last week, Haines won by forfeit over Roosters and defeated Kekambas. G.C. won a pair by two runs each over Hounds and I.C Waters. G.C. remain one point on top of second place Haines.

Maple View Variety won their fifth in a row beating Roosters by six runs.

G.C.- Devin Lee 3-3, Stephen Deblaire 3-3

I.C.- Aaron Laporte 3-4, Scott Beattie 3-4

Trevor Stuyt led the winners with three runs scored, Travis Nikin made a key catch in right field.

Maple View Variety-21, Roosters-15

Maple View - Phil Beauvais 3-4, Dan Dietrich 4-4

Roosters - Jared Petman 3-4, Perry Robinson 4-4

Maple View batted around in the second and third innings while scoring thirteen runs.

G.C. Lounsbury-8, Hounds-6

G.C. - Greg Onaitis 2-3, Devin Lee 3-3, Cheyne Sarafinchin Hr, Trevor Stuyt Hr

Hounds - Barry Howick 3-4, Kyle Waite 3-4, Nick Barnim Hr

G.C. scored three seventh inning runs to win it.

Haines Roofing-14, Kekambas-5

Haines - Dave Phillips 3-3, Andrew Burns 2-3

Kekambas - Kyle Smith 2-3, Cody Furlong 2-2

Haines put the game away with a five run fifth.

Men's B

East Elgin Spartans and Diamond Dogs both scored over fifty runs in their two victories last week. Their two wins helped Diamond Dogs slide into third place while the Spartans pulled to within two points of Ward's who won against Corey's Restaurant. Corey's evened their weekly record with a close win over Nancy's Variety.

Corey's - Bob Long 3-3, Scott MacIntyre 2-3, Justin Clapdorp Hr

Nancy's - Darryl Whittington 3-3, Marty Hawel 3-3 Hr

Justin Clapdorp had the walk off base hit for Corey's after Bob Long had tied it with a bases clearing triple in the seventh.

East Elgin Spartans-33, Pelicans-20

East Elgin - Martin Klassen 6-6, Pete Krahn 6-6, Jake Klassen Gr Slam, Johnny Klassen 2 Hr

Pelicans - Adam Jensen 4-4 3 Hr, Nick Lonsbary 4-4 Hr

Spartans scored seven runs in each of their first three at bats, Johnny Klassen led the winners with a pair of three run homers and nine runs batted in.

Ward's Automotive-17, Corey's Restaurant-10

Ward's - Gus Ford 4-5, Pat Tanner 3-4, Connor Smith Hr

Corey's - Bob Long 5-5, Mark Nechelput 4-5 Hr, Justin Clapdorp Hr

Connor Smith belted a three run homer in Ward's seven run fourth against the nine man Corey's squad.

Diamond Dogs-29, Nancy's Variety-8

Diamond Dogs - Kevin MacDonald 5-5, Brett Sinden 5-5, Dallas Dalby 2 Hr, Doug Falkins Hr

Nancy's - Matt Davis 3-4, Adam Swance 4-4

Doug Falkins led the winners with five runs driven in.

East Elgin Spartans-22, Wine And Beer Shop-16

East Elgin - Corny Krahn 6-6 Hr, Johnny Klassen 5-5 2 Hr, Jake Klassen Hr

Wine And Beer - Chevy Fisher 4-4, Nate Crocker 4-4 2Hr

Once again the Spartans relied on the long ball hitting five which accounted for twelve of their runs.

Diamond Dogs-30, Brew Jays-0

Diamond Dogs - Brett Sinden 4-4, Dallas Dalby Gr Slam, Hr, Doug Falkins Hr, Andrew Patenaude Hr

Brew Jays - Ryan Haegens 2-2, Chris Dunn 1-2

Dallas Dalby had a grand slam, a three run homer and an RBI double to lead the Dogs.

Men's C

Boston Pizza made the number thirteen their lucky number as they won both of their games by the identical score of 13-12 over John Beere and Falcons.

Brad Cole Construction Orioles remained tied for first with Boston Pizza after squeaking out a win over McKenzie's Carquest and a mercy of Falcons. Hit N Run solidified their hold on third place with victories over Hammer Time and McKenzie.

Boston Pizza - Josh Dewachter 4-5, Christian Devlin 5-5

John Beere - Ross Russell 3-4, Kalvin Smith 3-3

Boston Pizza broke John Beere's hearts by scoring eight seventh inning runs to win by one. Keith Agnew had the walk off hit.

Hit N Run-20, Hammer Time-4

Hit N Run - Jake Andres 3-3, John Dyck 3-3, Abe Klassen Gr Slam

Hammer Time - Cody Long 3-3, Dave Toal 2-2

Hit N Run scored seven in each of the third and fourth innings. Abe Klassen led with a pair of doubles and a grand slam.

Boston Pizza-13, Falcons-12

Boston Pizza - Brandon Devos 4-4, Keith Agnew 3-4, Jayme Wallace Hr

Falcons - John Wiebe 5-5, George Friesen 4-5

Jayme Wallace hit the first pitch out of the yard in the bottom of the seventh to give Boston Pizza the walk off win.

Hit N Run-17, McKenzie Carquest-9

Hit N Run - Jake Klassen 5-5, Jakie Enns 4-4

McKenzie - Troyer Kovari 2-3, Jason Scott 3-3, Mike Vanwynsberghe Hr

Paul Reimer and Jakie Enns each hit a pair of doubles for Hit N Run.

Brad Cole Orioles-9, McKenzie Carquest-6

Brad Cole - Adam Morris 3-3, Wayne Rear 3-3

McKenzie - Dylan Proulx 3-3, Mike Vanwynsberghe 2-3

Adam Morris drove in five runs for the winners and Tim Hayward pitched the win after several years being out of the game.

Brad Cole - Bryan Granger 3-3, Dave Weaver 3-3

Falcons - Frank Redecop 2-2, John Wiebe 1-2

Bryan Granger led the Orioles with a double and a pair of triples.

Ladies A

Jays won their fourth straight edging out Orange Crush to move into a second place tie with Indigo Lounge. Indigo beat Service Master by eight but no result has been received from their Wednesday game with Centre Point at time of writing.

Corey's remained unbeaten after mercies over Centre Point and Service Master.

Orange - Nicole Harris 2-3, Stacy Lauwerier 2-3

Melissa Hughes had the walk off base hit as Jays rallied for two runs in their last at bat.

Indi-Girls-13, Service Master-5

Indi-Girls - Anna Driedger 3-3, Tena Bueckert 3-3, Kaitlin Anseeuw Gr Slam

Service Master - Becky Dancy 3-4, Amanda Vandendriessche 3-3

Kaitlin Anseeuw led Indi-Girls with a grand slam, triple, double and seven runs batted in.

Corey's Restaurant-15, Centre Point Contractors-3

Corey's - Tracey Pressey 4-4, Shannon Oneill 4-4

Centre Point - Jess Salverda 2-2, Danielle Swart 2-2

Shannon Oneill had a pair of triples, a double and drove in six for Corey's.

Corey's Restaurant-17, Service Master-2

Corey's - Kasey McKenzie 5-5, Shannon Oneill 5-5

Service Master - Denise Pelltier 2-3, Becca McLeod 2-3

Kim King had a bases clearing triple for Corey's.

Ladies B

Shady Acres won twice last week to move to within two points of first place which is shared by Energy Productions and Steelerz. They had a walk off win over Energy and then mercied Boston Pizza. Energy defeated Steelerz by three. Steelerz won over Pitch Slap.

Energy - Jen Dahl 4-4, Elisha Duvestijin 4-4

Kris Petit had the walk off base hit for Shady Acres.

Steelerz - Jordan Triska 3-3, Niki Lama 3-4

A six run second keyed Energy's victory.
