For those who enjoy a special night out, one of the biggest events of the year is just around the corner.

“It’s the coming out event of the year and a time to pack up your blues and come celebrate the beginning of spring,” said Dave Hilderley, who sits on the committee of the 17th annual Golden Gala. “Come enjoy fellowship, dancing and food.”

The Century 21 Woodstock Golden Gala — which has raised $1.2 million for local charities over a decade — is also considered one of the glitziest events held in the Friendly City.

“It’s going to be a stellar night as always,” Hilderley said.

The event takes place March 4 at the Oxford Auditorium and includes the chance to win two $3,000 travel vouchers, West Jet tickets for North American destinations, vacation certificates for a destination of your choice and VIA Rail tickets for the London to the Quebec City corridor.

This year’s charitable recipients include Easter Seals Ontario, who provides financial assistance to those who require wheelchairs or walkers, South Gate Centre, whose mission is to enrich the lives of those over 50, as well as the MS Society, who assists the 100,000 Canadians living with the disease.

The event will again be catered again by La Cantina, while the stage show is comprised by high-caliber professional performers.

“It’s going to be fantastic music and a full dance floor, as usual,” Hilderley said.

A silent auction features a Tyler Bozak autographed jersey, London Knights tickets, and mystery escape room gift certificate.

Tickets are $135 and are available at the Century 21 offices, Meridian Credit Union, South Gate Centre or the CIBC — Norwich Plaza.
