Leighton Ronson has been a member of the Tillsonburg Royal Canadian Legion Branch 153 for the past 49 years.
"I was in signal corps," said Ronson, who turns 91 next month. "Might as well call me 91," he added with a laugh.
"I served in the UK and northwest Europe, Holland, Germany... that's it.
"We supplied communications to all the various units of the division - army to corps to division to company, all that kind of stuff. Telephone and wireless."
Ronson, who has attended many Nov. 11th Remembrance Day services over the years, appreciated Friday's at the Tillsonburg Cenotaph on Broadway.
"I thought it was very good," said Ronson.
"Each year, I think 'well, this will probably be my last one.' As long as it comes around, I'll be here."
