Vehicle, garage break-ins in Hickory Hills area

Article content

Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a rash of thefts from motor vehicles and garage entries that occurred overnight earlier this week in Tillsonburg.

Between Oct. 25 and Oct. 26, OPP responded to approximately eight vehicle and garage entries in the Hickory Hills area. A variety of items were taken including garage door openers, mailbox keys, a wallet, credit card, identification, vehicle documents, global positioning system, device charging cables, cell phone, golf clubs, loose change, and a sub-woofer.

The OPP would like to remind the public to ensure your belongings and vehicles are secure. Remove articles of value from your vehicles to hinder any would-be thieves from breaking into your vehicles.

The OPP is also asking residents to be vigilant in recognizing suspicious people or vehicles that may be sitting in neighbour’s driveways when they are not home or vehicles that are travelling aimlessly up and down roads. The public should try to get descriptions, licence plate numbers and direction of travel and report this immediately to their local police service. It is important for this information to get to police when the suspects may still be in the area.

When In Doubt – Call And Have Police Check It Out!
