The end of a long, hot summer saw the final meeting of Norwich Lawn Bowling Club for the year.
On Thursday, September 29, members met at the club house to hold their Fall Meeting and elect a new Board of Directors.
A short game had been planned prior to a pizza dinner but rain prevented that and so the meeting got underway early. When it came to the election of Officers, those currently holding the posts elected to stay on for a further year. Therefore, the Board of Directors for 2017 are: President, Kathleen Welch; Vice-President/Secretary, Linda Hawken; and Treasurer, Edith Cavin.
After the pizza and cake, courtesy of Marilyn Robillard, draw prizes were distributed that were provided by Norwich Shoppers Drug Mart.
Our season will start again in May 2017 so watch this space for news of the Open Houses that are held then, an opportunity for everyone to come out to try the sport. Just a reminder too that all ages are welcome so if you're looking for a game that all the family can take part in - from 10-year-olds to grandparents - this is the one for you.
And if you own a business where you would like to take on some team building events, lawn bowling has proven across the country to be an ideal one. Most games are played with teams and socialization and communication are big parts of it, making it even more relevant to help the cohesiveness of a company. Small or big company, all are welcome to make use of our green for this purpose.
