Baby show tradition continues at the Tillsonburg Tri-County Fair

Twenty-two babies competed for prizes and ribbons at the 162nd Tillsonburg Fair at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 20 in the Tillsonburg Community Centre Lions Den.

Judges for the event were Cheri Racine and Kaylee Babcock. Baby Show sponsors were the Tillsonburg Tri-County Fair Board, Campbell Shows, Bonnie Sitts, the Babcock Family and Chesterman Family.

Competing in the infants six months and under classes were: Matthew Cromwell, Izaak Dussault, Scarlett Fisk, Mickyla Giesbrecht, McKinley Heffren, Lukas Myny, Sophia Lynn Swanson, Julianna Rothenberg and Lucas Verhoeve.

Competing in the seven to 12 month age group were Cornilius Bueckert, Sophia Chmarney, Allana Davidson, Carson Foster, Novaleigh Laing, Zack Navickas, Aliyaah Noel, and Jase Taylor.

Competing in the 13 to 18 month classes were Justin Belardinilli, Maria Belardinilli, Monica Belardinilli, Hudson Laing and Carter Ristimaki.

Ribbons were won for the most active babies, sleepiest, most hair, happiest, chubbiest cheeks, and brightest eyes. Ribbons, money and prizes were passed out to the babies by the Tillsonburg Tri-County Fair Mini Queen Danielle Jeromin, Junior Ambassador Leanne Robinson and Austin Creek.

The Best Set of Twins or Triplets went to Justin, Maria and Monica Belardinilli.

In the two classes of babies creatively dressed for the fair theme “Beauty of Our Native Land”, competing babies were Allana Davidson, Mickyla Giesbrecht and Julianna Rothenberg for girls, and Zack Navickas and Jase Taylor for boys.

Draws for baby products were made throughout the event. A big thank you goes to the volunteers who decorated and made this year's show possible. They were Donna Young, Eleanor Creek, Wilda Carrier and Ilene Chesterman.
