In approximately 11 months Canada will be 150 years old. That’s right, in less than a year we will be kicking off the Sesquicentennial of Confederation.

Small wonder that a number of Tillsonburg folks are looking more and more to the past for interest, meanings and roots. Our past offers many entertaining and engaging pleasures, including the vast trove of Victorian-era clothes and fashion.

Happily, you can discover more about Victorian clothing from Confederation (1867) right to the end of the 19th century at a special workshop at Annandale House on Sunday afternoon, January 31, from 2-4 p.m.

Denise Ward, award-winning Civil War and Confederation era clothes specialist with a lifetime of experience, and Maureen Adlard, a 19th century re-enactor with over 20 years of 'old world fashion sense,' will be leading this hands-on clothing workshop that will explore the cut and thrust of women’s fashions of the day. Men’s fashions will also be neatly covered in this workshop.

So here’s your chance to join other history enthusiasts like the Tillsonburg Pioneers, Annandale supporters, and others in a rare workshop.

The past is coming up fast. What will you be wearing?
