A big week of slo-pitch coming up locally as once again Dorchester's Slo-Pitch City will be hosting the Canadian Championships. Not sure if any local men's players will be involved but Eichenberg's Jessica and Kaitlin Anseeuw will be playing for the Ladybirds in Ladies A division.

This week will be the last week in Tillsonburg Men's League play while the Ladies League will split into two divisions and continue on with more league play.

Men's A

IC Waters won twice last week knocking off Robert Q Travel and Gators. Boston Pizza and Survivors mercied Roosters.

IC Waters 16, Robert Q Travel 14

IC Waters: Steve Leacock (4-4) HR, Darren Cadotte (3-3), Steve Voth HR, Darren Cadotte HR

Robert Q: Bryan Deblaire (5-5) 2 HR, Bill Berten (3-4) 3 HR, Stefan Foster HR

Steve Leacock was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle for IC.

Boston Pizza 23, Roosters 7

Boston Pizza: Matt Ungar (4-4), John Epp (3-3), Ryan Miller HR, Nathan Klassen HR, Mike McCarthy HR, Tim Pressey 2 HR

Roosters: Scott Heath (2-2), Bryan Hamulecki (2-3), Josh Munroe HR

Tim Pressey led the winners with two homers and seven runs batted in.

IC Waters 18, Gators 6

IC Waters: Darren Cadotte (4-4) 2 HR, Mike Shewan (3-4), Steve Leacock HR, Jeff Cadotte HR, Steve Voth HR

Gators: Chris VanParys (2-3), Scott Carruthers (2-4), Tyler Phillips HR

Darren Cadotte homered in his first and last at-bats for IC Waters.

 

Men's B

Kekambas won the battle of the top two in B coming from behind to defeat Kirwin and Oatman. Kirwin and Oatman had defeated Tirecraft in a rain-shortened game last Tuesday. Tirecraft bounced back with victories over Sandham Transport and Cain's Pelicans. Domino's Hounds had their chances of first dashed forfeiting to Sandham, but they outslugged Ontario Laser Spartans by 10 to get in the win column for the week.

Kekambas 17, Kirwin and Oatman 9

Kekambas: Brandon Rohrer (4-4), Travis Horvath (4-4) HR, Cody Furlong HR, Kyle Smith HR, Kyle Hollister HR

Kirwin and Oatman: Cheyne Sarafinchin (3-4), Thom Puhr (3-4), Shaine Hall HR

Kekambas were held scoreless through three, then plated 17 over their last four at-bats.

Kirwin and Oatman 15, Tirecraft 10

Kirwin and Oatman: Shaine Hall (4-4), Thom Puhr (3-4) 2 HR

Tirecraft: Rob Derks (3-3) HR, Ryan Hambleton (3-4), Nick Nagy HR

Kirwin and Oatman broke up a close game in the fifth scoring four. Thom Puhr had a two-run homer in the rally.

Tirecraft 8, Sandham Transport 4

Tirecraft: Kevin Karnes (3-3), Steve Kerr (2-3), Nick Nagy HR, Joe Stone HR, Rob Derks HR

Sandham: Mike Schmeltz (2-3), Marc Poirier (2-3)

Joe Stone's two-run homer sparked Tirecraft's four-run fourth.

Ontario Laser Spartans 13, Cain's Pelicans 4

Ontario Laser: Herman Enns (2-2), Martin Klassen (2-2)

Cain's: Kurt Vaughan (3-4), Adam Jensen (3-4)

Martin Klassen had a bases-clearing triple for the winners.

Domino's Hounds 26, Ontario Laser Spartans 16

Domino's: Joe Kingsbury (3-4), Jim McKillen (3-4), Craig Todt HR

Ontario Laser: Martin Klassen (4-4) 2 HR, Herman Enns (3-4), Peter Froese 2 HR, Pete Krahn 2 HR

Joe Kingsbury reached and scored in four plate appearances to lead Domino's.

Tirecraft 16, Cain's Pelicans 6

Tirecraft: Kevin Karnes (4-4), Ryan Hambleton (4-5), Steve Derks 2 HR

Cain's Pelicans: Ryan Verbuyst (3-4), Tyler Danbrook (3-3)

Nick Nagy doubled three times while Steve Derks homered in consecutive at-bats to lead Tirecraft.

 

Men's C

Corey's Restaurant extended their lead over Ward's after defeating Norox Basement Applications and John Beere. Norox mercied Destroyers and Hit N Run won a close one over Flying Squirrels. Norox also won by forfeit over Flying Squirrels.

John Beere: Shaun Elliott (2-2), Andrew Barnim (1-2)

Corey's lead off batter Justin Clapdorp had a triple and double.

Hit N Run 16, Flying Squirrels 15

Hit N Run: Abe Klassen (5-5) HR, Franky Klassen (3-4)

Flying Squirrels: Ed Bouw (4-5), Ryan Copping (4-5)

Abe Klassen hit for the cycle and drove in the walk-off run in the seventh.

Corey's Restaurant 18, Norox Basement Applications 11

Corey's: Wes Haegens (3-4), Derek Elliott (3-4), Craig Boucher HR, Scott MacIntyre HR

Norox: Jess Legg (4-5), Justin Dygos (4-4)

Everyone in the winner's lineup scored at least one run.

Norox Basement Application 23, Destroyers 8

Norox: Derrick Harnish (4-4), Steve Chambers (3-3), Tim Miners HR

Destroyers: Anthony Lockstein (3-3), Brandon Corvo (3-3)

Norox rolled sevens in the first and third innings. Nine of Norox's 13 batters scored at least two runs.

 

Ladies

There was a light slate of games Wednesday as the league played games that had been rained out. Unfortunately I haven't received all of the results. Eichenberg's mercied Service Master while Service did the same to Dean Masson Construction. EMI Steelerz also beat Dean Masson.

Eichenberg's 16, Service Master 1

Service Master: Kelly Verscheure (2-2), Kerry Jensen (2-3)

Tamarah Schultz and Shannon Moore each drove in three for Eichenberg's.

Service Master 17, Dean Masson Construction 2

Service Master: Jodi Hodges (3-3), Becky Abbott (3-3)

Dean Masson: Jen Millen (3-3), Brooke Ventnor (2-2)

Kayla Bond and Jodi Hodges scored three runs for the winners.

EMI Steelerz 21, Dean Masson Construction 9

EMI: Nancy Reimer (4-5), Rhonda Mayo (4-5)

Dean Masson: Amber Granger (4-4), Steph Miller (3-4)

EMI plated seven in two consecutive innings.
