Pre-Loved Jewellery Sale this weekend at the library

Donna Walton has an eye for vintage jewellery, and over the past 10 years she has successfully collected and sold it to support local charitable causes.

For several months, Walton and a group of friends have been meeting weekly to carefully check, clean, and attractively arrange a large selection of gently used jewellery for a May 2-3, 2015 sale at the Tillsonburg Library.

"Each year the donations seem to have more glitz and glamour," said Walton, who will have eight tables set up in the library's Program Room, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, and 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, May 3.

The 'Pre-Loved Jewellery Sale' will include earrings (both pierced and clip-on), necklaces, bracelets, brooches, and pins. In addition to costume jewellery, there will be vintage pieces by Sherman (Swarovksi crystals), Bond Boyd, Coro, and Sarah Coventry. A number of vintage handbags will also be sold.

Jewellery grab bags will be available for children to buy for their mothers for Mother’s Day for $1 a bag.

Walton hopes all those attending will find both enjoyment and satisfaction.

The jewellery sale is sponsored by Friends of the Tillsonburg Library committee. Proceeds will increase the number of programs for children and youth offered at the Tillsonburg Library during the summer months.
