It was a week of very close games and Computer managed to steal the show with a come from behind victory. The Machine had the early edge 4-2 but just couldn’t hang on. Leading the way for the Station crew were Anthony and Brayden Simon with two apiece, followed by singles from Jason Beard, Alexa Metselaar and Laura Magashazi.
Kraushaar got a hat trick from Kris Foreman and singles by Justin Young, Erica Thompson and Nick McDonald.
Corey’s Restaurant 6,
Danbrook Auto 6
Our 2nd game was a defensive barnburner with Corey’s taking the early 3-1 1st half lead. Mike Beal four 2nd half goals mounted the big Danbrook comeback and then the equalizer to split the points. Along with Mike’s goals were Pete Rochus and Matt Davis with singles.
Corey’s hot foot belonged to Dimitri Papadakos with four and Mike Mesquita added the other two.
Wednesday, Feb. 4

Verne’s Carpet 6
Wednesday’s matchup featured another solid game with the first half tightly deadlocked at four apiece. The 2nd was all Laser with the Carpet’s floodgates opening wide to a 7-2 margin. Laser’s Ryan VanLeeuwen did most of the damage scoring six, followed by a hat trick from Cedric Tomico and a double from goalie Tyler VanLeeuwen.
Verne’s got their usual three from Carlos Oliveira with singles by Mario Noorland, Joel Taylor and goalie Scott Gooding.
Courtland Gardens 10,
Pettman’s Auction 10
Another barnburner of a game but this time it was an offensive nightmare for the goalies. It was an all out attack and little defence and when the dust settled it was all even at 10 apiece. Auction took the early 7-4 1st half lead but the lead changed hands throughout the 2nd with Garden’s Tyler Harvey scoring the equalizer with seconds on the clock. Courtland’s big gun was Greg VanWynsberghe with four, followed by a pair from Tyler Harvey and a pile of singles from Bailey Page, Bobby Orr, Trista Langrell and Doug Menezes.
Auction’s scoring machine Gerrit Pelleboer blasted home seven, followed by singles from Terry Neudorf, Rudi Vanittersum and goalie Jared Pettman.
Thursday, Feb. 5
Poultry Specialties 5,
Tillson Pizza 3
Thursday’s match featured yet another great defensive battle. It was only 3-1 at half with Shayne Tremblay hat trick doing the damage for Poultry. The 2nd was all even 2-2 with some great goaltending, goalposts and missed opportunities. Poultry got a 2nd half pair from Jan Bos while Pizza got singles from Stephan DeGroote, Koert Vanittersum and goalie Darryl Price.
Kraushaar Machine 8,
Signshop 5
Finally after three ties and numerous close games, Kraushaar hits paydirt recording their 1st victory of the campaign. Signshop took the early 1st half lead with a slim 4-3 edge but the Machine dominated the 2nd outscoring their opposition by a 5-1 margin. Leading the way were Cody Krauhaar and Ed Michalek with two apiece, followed by singles from Erica Thompson, Nick McDonald, Justin Young and Mike Thompson.
Signshop got a double from Eduardo Centeno and singles by Enrique Centeno, Leo Centeno and goalie Ivan Hernandez.

Wed. Feb. 11: Verne’s vs Poultry; Auction vs Danbrook
