Family Literacy Day fun

Tillsonburg's Family Literacy Day at Annandale School Tuesday night featured community guest readers including Mayor Stephen Molnar and Oxford OPP Inspector Tim Clark, songs and rhymes with Mother Goose, Paws for Stories therapy dogs, crafts and activities. The event was presented by Oxford Ontario Early Years Centre, LDCSB, TVDSB, Children's Services of Community Living Tillsonburg, Tillsonburg Public Library, Sonbeam Christian Day Care and Tillsonburg Little School. Thanks to support from the Kinette Club of Tillsonburg, a free book was given to every child in attendance. Family Literacy Day, an initiative started by ABC Literacy, is celebrated annually in Canada on Jan. 27. (CHRIS ABBOTT/TILLSONBURG NEWS)
