Second man arrested in Tillsonburg CIBC robbery

Christopher Grant Sheardown, 31, of no fixed address, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at approximately 3:50 p.m. by OPP Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Unit (ROPE) in connection with a robbery at the CIBC bank in Tillsonburg.
On Friday, Dec. 12, at approximately 5:35 p.m., Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to the report of a robbery at the CIBC bank located in the Tillsonburg Town Centre on Broadway.
A lone male had entered the bank and approached the female teller. He then threatened the teller, indicating he had a weapon. After receiving the money, the man fled the area on foot.
Sheardown has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with the following: Robbery With Violence; and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000. He was held for a bail hearing to be held at Woodstock Courthouse on December 31, 2014.
