Annandale House is gearing up for Canada Day

It’s fun, it’s family-friendly, and best of all, the Annandale National Historic Site’s sixth annual Canada Day Family Fun Fair is free.

Each year more than 500 or more people have gathered on Annandale House’s front lawn to enjoy old-fashioned carnival games, treats, Canada Quizzes, Canada Cake, and tours of Annandale National Historic Site – all for free.

Spend some time on Canada's birthday touring a nationally significant building in our own backyard.

“This year, thanks to the tremendous support of the Tillsonburg Kiwanis Club and the Tillsonburg Lions Club, people who attend the Fun Fair will be treated to cotton candy, snow cones, and popcorn,” said Marie Blake, Culture and Heritage coordinator. “Thanks to the generosity of these organizations, we were also able to purchase great prizes, so every child will go home with a prize or a craft they made."

“All activities and events at the Museum are, of course, free of charge on Canada Day, though donations are greatly appreciated and will help fund future programs and activities,” said Patricia Phelps, Culture and Heritage manager/curator.

The Museum’s Canada Day Fun Fair runs from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., and the Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for those who wish a tour of Annandale House or to explore the current exhibit 'Oxford in the Age of Innocence,' which explores different facets of life in Oxford County before the outbreak of WWI. This exhibit is part of the Oxford Remembers – Oxford’s Own five-year project.

For more information, call the museum at 519-842-2294.

Annandale’s Canada Day Open House starts at 10 a.m. July 1, and the Fun Fair starts at 12 p.m.
