Turtlefest at Annandale National Historic Site

Peek-a-boo, a 50-pound tortoise from Turtle Haven Rescue Centre, brought a friend to Turtlefest this year. The pair roamed around the lawn at Annandale National Historic Site Saturday during the 4th annual Turtlefest celebration. At ANHS Saturday, Turtlefest events included Turtle Tales Story Time, Turtle Tattoos and Face Painting, Never Give Up book reading by author Jan Everett, a live turtle display, a historic turtle walk, 50th anniversary Footprints in the Sand book signing, a Dawson Family concert, crafts and games, a Wildlife Guardians display, and trainer Marisa Zilli.
