Recycling truck driver charged

The 39-year-old driver of the recycling truck involved in a fatal motor vehicle collision with an e-bike has been charged with Careless Driving under The Highway Traffic Act.

Both vehicles were traveling southbound on Lisgar Avenue at the time of the collision, approximately 9:10 a.m. Friday, April 25 near the corner of Lisgar and Fourth Street. OPP, Tillsonburg Fire Services, Oxford County Emergency Medical Services attended the scene of an accident which claimed the life of the 52-year-old e-bike rider, Harvey Collett of Tillsonburg.

The driver of the recycling truck is a resident of Brantford.
