Mon. Feb. 10
Danbrook Auto 10, Verne’s Carpet One 7
Danbrook opens up with a bit of an upset over 3rd place Verne’s. Verne’s took an early 4-3 1st half edge before getting outscored 7-3 in the 2nd. Tyler Danbrook had the hot foot and led his squad with six, followed by a double from Matt Davis and singles from Mike Beal and Matt Swanson. Verne’s got doubles from Aaron De Jong and goalie Jason Beard with singles by Tim Hua, Pete Rochus and Justin Young.
Computer Station 6, Corey’s Restaurant 5
Our 2nd Monday evening match featured yet another upset as Computer handed 1st place Corey’s a 2nd half surprise. After Corey’s took an early 5-3 1st half lead, Computer Station totally shut the doors on Corey’s in the 2nd and scored three of their own to steal the points. Computer’s Nick Byrnes was the hero scoring a hat trick, followed by singles from Ashley Verstraten, Garret Schuurman and goalie Darryl Price. Corey’s got doubles from Rudy Leenaerts and Joe Lopes and a single by Dimitri Papadakos.
Tues. Feb. 11
DoneRight Landscaping 10, Danbrook Auto 9
DoneRight continues their roll yet again but not without another great performance from the Auto crew. It was only a 5-3 1st half lead for DoneRight but Danbrook came back in the 2nd and equalized late in the game but just couldn’t hang on. Max Evanitski led his troops once again with four, followed by doubles from Mac Robinson and goalie Don Evanitski. Singles came from the foot of Arie Vermeer and Nathan Matos. Auto got a hat trick from Matt Swanson, followed by doubles by Matt Davis and Pat Stephenson and singles from Mike Beal and Tyler Danbrook.
Pettman’s Auctioneering 9, Tillson Pizza 5
Our 2nd game was an interesting affair as a short-staffed Pizza battled to an early 2-1 deficit. A patient Auction finally started to roll and dominated the 2nd with seven goals. Gerrit Pelleboer did most of the damage for Auction banging home four, followed by a hat trick night for Alechia Jardine and singles from Molson Page and Chad Lofthouse. Pizza got a pair by Nate Shearer and singles from Jordan Moncreiff, Cole Vuylsteke and goalie Erwin Loewen.
Wed. Feb. 12
Signshop 16, Ontario Laser 5
Signshop came to play and they took no prisoners as Bailey Page blasted home a season high eight goals leading his team to an early 9-5 1st half lead. The 2nd was no different as Signshop completely closed the door. Following Bailey’s huge night was Carlos Oliveira and Jenn Whittington with three apiece and a pair from Lucas Bos. Laser got singles from Rob Butchey, Ryan VanLeeuwen, Colin Procunier, Kris Foreman and goalie Tyler VanLeeuwen.
Corey’s Restaurant 11, Courtland PPM 5
The Restaurant crew bounced back with an impressive 1st half performance and opened up with a insurmountable 7-1 lead. It was cruise control after that with Dimitri Papadakos leading his gang with four, followed by hat tricks from Rudy Leenaerts and Joe Lopes and single by Ivan Hernandez. Courtland got a pair from goalie Mike Mesquita and singles by DanOliveira, Stephan DeGroote and Jerry Clergy.
Thurs. Feb. 13
Verne’s Carpet One 5, Cocreo 4
Thursday was barnburner night with a short-staffed Carpet crew handing Cocreo a surprised defeat. It was deadlocked 2-2 at the half with a tired Verne’s (no subs) just hanging on in the 2nd. Cocreo dominated but just couldn’t find the equaliser. Justin Young led Verne’s with a hat trick, followed by singles from Angela Rochus and goalie Jason Beard. Cocreo got three from Andy Metselaar and the single from Marijn Noorland.
Poultry Specialties 9, Computer Station 9
Our 2nd evening matchup was another exciting one as Computer jumped out to and early 5-1 1st half lead. It looked all but over as Poultry stormed back with eight 2nd half goals and took the lead with minutes remaining before Computer scored a last second lucky goal from just over centre. Jamie Lamont and Nick Byrnes did most of damage for Computer scoring four apiece followed by a single from goalie Darryl Price. Poultry got a good night of scoring from Steve Lavier with four, a Shaine Janzen hat trick and singles from Trista Langrell and goalie Cody Kraushaar.
