Local economic growth highlighted at SCOR EDC meeting

Representatives from the counties that form South Central Ontario Region Economic Development Corporation (SCOR EDC) met Saturday with their local Members of Parliament.

“Our goal is to create jobs and economic growth in the region, and it was a great opportunity to work with our local MPs in sharing resources to address this," said Tillsonburg Mayor John Lessif, SCOR EDC Chair. "Things like the short-line rail issue and the new Building Canada infrastructure plan are essential to our ability to grow our job base."

“Our continuing and professional relationship with our federal representatives is vital to our economic success, and while we have seen good progress, there remains much to do," added Norfolk Mayor, Dennis Travale, past Chair SCOR EDC. "SCOR and our MPs agree on this point."
