Woodingford Lodge evacuated

All 32 residents of Woodingford Lodge in Tillsonburg were evacuated by 6:30 a.m. Saturday in wake of flooding in the long-term care facility.
Flooding was caused by failure of a water valve in the sprinkler system, stated a press release from The County of Oxford, necessitating moving its residents, as well as causing damage.
Residents were moved to other health care facilities in the county with the aid of the Tillsonburg Fire Service, Oxford County EMS, Woodstock Transit and local transportation agencies. Woodingford staff members have followed their residents to the various locations.
Extent of the damage to Woodingford, Tillsonburg was being assessed Saturday, in order to establish estimates when repairs can be completed, and residents moved back to their regular facility. Updates will be issued directly to residents and their families.
