Glendale High School's got talent.

And a great sense of humor.

And compassion – MC Jack McCormick announced proceeds from Thursday night's annual Glendale Idol and Talent Show, held on a portable stage in the school cafeteria, would be donated to The Foundation Fighting Blindness for sight-saving research.

Each of the musical acts, including well-known groups like 'Spice Girls' and 'Backstreet Boys,' performed in front of the audience and three special judges - Scott Gooding, Yvonne Yarker, and Melanie Lytle, who provided entertaining 'honest' and 'from the heart' analysis.

Performing Thursday were soloists Katelyn Vermeeren, Brendan Lowrie-Dennis, Steven Dodd, Haley McLean, duet BRomance, and groups Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls and Oreo.

The audience voted to determine the winners choosing their three favorites. When the ballots were added up, Spice Girls took third place, Oreo second, and winning the 2013 Glendale Idol and Talent Show title were Liam Spencer, Kevin Arnel and Tyler Gubesch as '90s boy band Backstreet Boys.

Prizes were donated by Academy of Music in Tillsonburg.
