Hey! It’s Maddy and Alex and we are here to report the latest Eagle Events!

This last week has been very busy for everyone and mostly the Students’ Council because they planned and set up all of the Halloween activities for the students at Sacred Heart School. The members chose to have a costume walk where each class walked around the gym to show off their costumes! It was a lot of fun and there were some great costumes! The change room was also converted to a haunted house; everyone was terrified! Also, a dance was held for each of the divisions and everyone had a great time dancing with their friends.

The Grade 7 and 8 students worked very efficiently with their little kindergarten buddies helping them create a Halloween craft. They had a great time working with the little children.

Also, 16 kids from our school have been working very hard for their performance in Langton’s Mini Battle of the Blades contest. A special congratulations goes out to Paige and Jordan, who won MBOTB!! We are proud of all of you. You all did an amazing job!! On-line voting has taken place and we will all be tuning into Sunday night’s show of Battle of the Blades to see which pair from across Canada is the winner of the Mini Blades contest. Good luck Paige and Jordan.

At our Monday assembly, a short video was shown and we have started our Operation Christmas Shoe Box. This is where boxes are given out to students and they are to fill each with items such as dolls, play cars, hard candy, soap, toothbrushes, paper, pens and so much more for children in Third World countries. Students should also put $7 inside the box for shipping. Students can also put a note in it telling about themselves and wishing the child in the Third World country a Merry Christmas! Let’s see how many boxes we can make this year. SHS always has a helping spirit!!

Also, students have been working very hard on their Remembrance Day posters and poems, which are going to the Royal Canadian Legion on Monday to be judged by veterans! Best of luck to those who entered! On Monday, November 11th, SHS students will join the students from Langton Public School to remember and think about the soldiers who fought for us in war.

Tune in for next week’s Eagle Events news!!
