LETTER TO THE EDITOR
It is again that time of year when the Royal Canadian Legion Tillsonburg Branch 153 is very busy preparing for the 2013 Poppy Campaign. This year's campaign runs from October 25 to November 10.
The 2012 campaign was very successful thanks to donations from many local businesses and the generosity of the public when they make a donation to one of the many poppy boxes located throughout the community. Thank you to everyone who contributed to last year's campaign as we raised in excess of $14,000. This was used to assist veterans, their widows, and dependents. These monies also supported youth activities and scholarships. This year we were able to donate to the Veterans' Arts Program at Parkwood Hospital as well as hosting a luncheon for Parkwood Veterans.
Anyone who would like to assist on this year's campaign by volunteering at a table in local stores and mall may contact the branch office at 519-842-5281. All are welcome to attend the Remembrance Day Service at 10:45 a.m. to be held at the cenotaph in front of The Town Centre mall on Broadway Street.
Thank you again to the local businesses and the public for your support in the past and we look forward to your participation in our 2013 Poppy Campaign.
