Jim Sergeant’s (left) 90th birthday open house on September 29 included a visit from Oxford MP Dave MacKenzie (right), who presented the former Lancaster bomber navigator with a Bomber Command Bar. The recently-created award honours the men who served with the RCAF and RAF in Bomber Command operations, of whom approximately 10,000 paid the ultimate price. Sergeant flew 17 missions for Bomber Command in 1945 and was recommended for the award by his son Bill. Contributed Photo
