'Explicit' photo request results in charges

A 22-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with extortion, criminal harassment and identity fraud following an alleged request for ‘explicit’ photos from a Norfolk County resident.

The resident in question contacted police on Tuesday, June 18 after being contacted by a male. The Norfolk resident sent photos to the male in an attempt to secure a modeling opportunity. A subsequent request for ‘explicit’ photos followed, at which time the female complainant contacted the police.

The 22-year-old male was arrested following Norfolk OPP investigation and will appear in provincial court in Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.
