Ice Cream Eating Contest at the Tillsonburg Fair

The second annual Ice Cream Eating Contest at the Tillsonburg Tri-County Agricultural Fair Saturday afternoon, sponsored by Shaw's Ice Cream (in Tillsononburg their retail outlet is Dad's Ice Cream) attracted three rounds of competitors.
First, the kids were in the spotlight. Pete Benke (1st), Arianna Wensley (2nd) and Jillian Van Daalen (3rd) were the prize winners.
Then the adults went to work on their ice cream - offered in their choice of three fair flavours. Participants had to dig in for the first 30 seconds without the benefit of utensils, then had another 30 seconds to finish off their ice cream with spoons. David Welch was first to stand up, then Loretta Ysebaert, then Rebecca Fish.
Not done yet, another round of both adults and children finished off the competition. Mark Corey was the clear-cut winner in Round 3.
Organizers thanked all the participants, and Shaw's for donating the ice cream.
