Tillsonburg's Voice of Slo-Pitch

Article content

It was a very sad end to the week in slo-pitch last week. On Thursday night, Bill ‘BHB’ LaChapelle passed away after playing what would be his final game.

Bill – or Billy – was a member of the Big Bass Brawlers men’s slo-pitch team who played in Tillsonburg’s Men’s B Division.

He was also an umpire for the Tillsonburg Ladies Slo-Pitch League. The ladies paid homage to Bill by canceling all their scheduled games Monday enabling those players to attend his visitation.

As well as umpiring in the Ladies league, he also did the same in the men’s loop, and you could see Bill umpiring in Tillsonburg tournaments.

He will be greatly missed. Condolences to his teammates, his closest friends, and family. Base Hit Billy was always a tough out!
