Bunker to Bunker at The Bridges

Article content

The thermometer at my house read 36C on Tuesday, July 16. I'm not sure if that was the actual temperature on the golf course but it sure felt like it was.

Twenty-two Ladies Section golfers at The Bridges participated in the annual CKOT Easy 101/Country 107.3 tournament. Nine 18-hole ladies teed off on the back nine at 8:30 and were joined on the front nine by 13 9-hole ladies for a shotgun start at 10:30.

Following golf, we gathered in the Clubhouse dining room for a wonderful lunch prepared by Chef Ron and his staff. Following the blessing, asked by Marion Hevenor, we were served asparagus soup, an entree of Asian salad topped with skewered chicken and chocolate mousse for dessert.

Tournament conveners Wilma Jeffery and Bryden Sinden welcomed everyone and thanked our sponsor CKOT for their generous support. Newlywed Carolyn Lamers joined us for lunch and was presented with a small token of our appreciation.
