Attempted abduction at skate park

On Sunday March 31, officers from Oxford County OPP, Tillsonburg Detachment, responded to a report of an attempted abduction in the area of the Tillsonburg Community Complex Skate Park.

Investigation revealed that at approximately 10 a.m., a 12-year-old-female and 4-year-old male were playing at the skate park when they were approached by an unknown male who tried to get them into his vehicle.

Police conducted a search for the male and his vehicle and were unsuccessful in locating either.

The male party is described as: approximately 40 years of age, short white beard, approximately 170 pounds, and approximately 5’11” in height.

He was last seen wearing: a florescent pink coat or shirt and a purple-coloured baseball cap with short peak. The male was seen driving silver-coloured SUV with tinted windows and a luggage rack.

Members of the Oxford County OPP Criminal Investigation Unit continue to investigate.
