Dozens of firefighters battle blaze near Mt. Elgin

South-West Oxford firefighters battled a serious blaze near Mt. Elgin that broke in a rural residence around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 26.
About 30 firefighters from Brownsville, Beachville and Mt. Elgin fought the fire at a home that was fully engulfed by flames on Mt. Elgin Road between Zenda and Duffy lines.
According to Mt. Elgin district chief Eric Johnson no one was home at the time of the blaze and no one was injured.
Johnson said firefighters were on scene overnight Saturday and several remained on fire watch on Sunday.
The investigation is now in the hands of the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal.
No other details have been released.
