The third annual Tillsonburg Resolution Run may be the best way ever to start a New Year.
The Tillsonburg Sole Mates’ Resolution Run, which goes Friday, Dec. 28, starts and finishes at Niko’s Eatery and Bar, 102 Broadway. It is geared for everyone who is a runner – or ever wanted to be a runner – and new runners are very welcome.
“There are no clocks, just a wonderful easy run,” said Sole Mates’ co-organizer Sandra Beernaert. “Out, and back to Niko’s to enjoy the good company of other runners for an hour or so.”
Runners are encouraged to dress with reflectors, for safety, and if they like, dress up in a favourite Santa or elf costume.
“We each give $10 to Niko’s and they provide all of us with a drink of choice and platters of appetizers on our return.”
Runners are asked to meet at Niko’s at 6:15 p.m. and be ready to go by 6:30 p.m.
FOOD BANK DONATIONS
Runners are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the Helping Hand Food Bank, who will pick up the food Friday night.
“Walkers are more than welcome to come out and do a shorter version,” added Beernaert. “No competition, just for fun, very informal. Bring a non-perishable food item and meet us as Niko’s afterwards.”
