Article content

The Hockey for Everyone program still has a few openings left for local boys and girls in Grades 3 to 7 who are not currently enrolled in organized hockey.

This is being offered free of charge.

Ice time at the Tillsonburg Arena will be paid for and the costs for second-hand equipment will be covered.

The Club Oxford Hockey League in Tillsonburg has combined efforts with the Tillsonburg Kinsmen Club to make this exceptional offer to the youth of our community.

This program will NOT be affected by any political action by Thames Valley teachers.

On-ice sessions will be offered on Thursdays and Fridays from 7-8 a.m. at the Tillsonburg Community Centre starting the first week of January and it will continue until the March Break.

The junior group, Grades 3-4 and some Grade 5’s, will skate Thursday mornings. The senior group, Grades 6-7 and some of the Grade 5’s, skate on Fridays.

Each group will enjoy 10 free sessions. Skating drills, some basic hockey instruction and scrimmage time will be offered with an emphasis on having fun.

Parents/guardians will need to make the necessary transportation arrangements to get participants to the rink and to school afterwards.

Application forms may still be available at the school your child attends, or may be picked up at All Seasons Sports Exchange located at 40 Broadway in Tillsonburg.

Questions can be directed to Mr. Kim Alexander, president of Club Oxford Hockey, at 688-7363.
